HANOVER, N.H. (AP) — Dartmouth College is using alumni and anonymous gifts totaling $20 million to create two academic clusters focused on neuroscience and digital humanities.
The first new cluster will focus on understanding the link between the brain and the contents of the mind that define the characteristics of each person. It will be supported by gifts from alumni Diana Taylor, Gregg Engles and Anne and Mark Hansen.
The second cluster will focus on the idea of what it means to be human in the digital age. Supported by a single anonymous gift, the cluster will explore the intersection of digital technology and human creativity.
The clusters are part of President Philip Hanlon's strategy to recruit top scholars who will teach and conduct research to address global challenges.
