LAS VEGAS (AP) — A lawyer for a 33-year-old ex-convict who showed up at a Las Vegas hospital with a gunshot wound said he'll fight murder charges in the shooting death of a man who fell or was pushed from a vehicle.

Attorney Sean Sullivan said Friday that Andrew Curry will plead not guilty to murder and felon in possession of a weapon charges in the death 27-year-old Kelvin Andrew Gibson.

Gibson was found early Tuesday on a southwest Las Vegas street and pronounced dead later at University Medical Center.

Police say Curry was treated for his wound and arrested after questioning. Police also found the vehicle in which detectives believe the shooting took place.

A motive for the slaying wasn't disclosed.
