BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Idaho taxpayers footed a bill of nearly $250,000 to cover expenses for lawmakers traveling to and from Boise during the 2015 legislative session. Republican Sen. Bob Nonini from Coeur d'Alene received close to $8,800 in travel reimbursements between Dec. 2014 and April 2015. It was the highest in-state travel receipt for both chambers. The Associated Press obtained the information through a public records request.
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — Some families of children suffering from mental health issues are finding it difficult to access services, leaving public schools to become the front line for helping students with mental health concerns. The Lewiston Tribune reports that a Lewiston School District social worker says it is even worse for schools in rural districts that don't have designated mental health teams.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A state record for most public university graduates has been reset by the nearly 4,000 Boise State University students to earn diplomas this academic year. About 1,500 students walked Saturday at the university's graduation ceremony at Taco Bell Arena, and another 2,383 were eligible for their degrees at the completion of the spring semester.
YELLOWSTONE NATIONAL PARK, Wyo. (AP) — Beginning June 1, it will cost more to visit Yellowstone National Park. The National Park Service announced that the entrance fee to the first national park will increase to $30 per vehicle. The current fee is $25. The pass is good for seven days. The higher fees will boost the park's revenue by about $3 million a year.
