BOISE, Idaho (AP) — About a dozen community members have donated to a former Boise family living in Nepal after the country was hit by an earthquake that killed thousands. The Idaho Statesman reports the couple and their young daughter moved to Nepal in November to take care of family. A family friend started the GoFundMe page upon learning the family was spending the night on the street and had lost many of their belongings.
BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Boise State's quarterback has been arrested and charged with a pair of misdemeanors. The Idaho Press-Tribune reports 20-year-old sophomore quarterback Ryan Finley was arrested yesterday on charges of being a minor in possession of alcohol and resisting or obstructing officers. Finley was the perceived leader to start for the Broncos as quarterback this fall.
LEWISTON, Idaho (AP) — The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers says low snow levels mean Dworshak Reservoir will fill sooner than normal. Water managers tell the Lewiston Tribune that because the snowfall was below average, they haven't lowered the reservoir this spring as much as normal. They typically lower the reservoir to prevent flooding.
RENO, Nev. (AP) — A 15-year-old legal battle between Elko County, the U.S. government and environmentalists is back in federal court in Reno in a fight over control of a remote national forest road and protection of a threatened trout. The dispute over the bull trout and the road along the Jarbidge River is one of the most contentious among numerous similar controversies across the West.
