PHOENIX (AP) — A man has been arrested for allegedly trying to sell more than $150,000 in stolen medical equipment from Phoenix-area hospitals.
Maricopa County Sheriff's officials say 51-year-old Charles Edwin Lockhart was being held without bond Friday.
His next court hearing is scheduled for April 30 and he doesn't have an attorney yet.
Court documents state that a man arrested earlier this month on suspicion of stealing medical equipment from hospitals told police that Lockhart bought the equipment from him for resale purposes.
Lockhart would allegedly buy the stolen IV pumps for up to $200 apiece and sell them on the internet for up to $1,500 each.
Police say Lockhart told them that he had already sold at least 60 to 75 IV pumps online, netting at least $60,000 from the sales.
