BOISE, Idaho (AP) — An 18-month-old boy is dead after falling into a canal in southwest Idaho yesterday afternoon. Ada County deputies say paramedics attempted life-saving measures and took the boy to a hospital where he died a short time later.

BOISE, Idaho (AP) — Federal authorities have made public the final management plan for six wilderness areas and 16 wild and scenic river segments in Idaho. The BLM published on the Federal Register the Owyhee Canyonlands Wilderness and Wild & Scenic Rivers Management Plan. The process allows for appeals to be made within 30 days.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — State police will build a new headquarters in southeast Idaho next year. The Idaho State Journal reports that the Legislature authorized $5.4 million to construct a 24,000-square-foot facility in Pocatello.

TWIN FALLS, Idaho (AP) — Cattle prices are expected to moderate this year but still remain higher than average. The Twin Falls Times-News reports that increases in the second quarter are expected to be smaller than the record set in late 2014. Southern Plains cow reached a record high of $131 per hundredweight last summer. Prices this year are ranging from $103 to $115 per hundredweight.
