Stocks turn positive...Yahoo sticks with Microsoft in search deal...House votes to repeal estate tax

NEW YORK (AP) — Stocks have turned positive in early afternoon trading on Wall Street as investors sift through the latest batch of corporate earnings reports. One stock that's soaring is Netflix, after reporting that it added 4.9 million subscribers in the first three months of the year. Major markets in Europe fell amid renewed concerns that Greece could default on its debts.

SAN FRANCISCO (AP) — Yahoo and Microsoft will keep working together on search, but Yahoo is getting more control over the how its search page looks and works. An agreement announced today extends a search partnership that Yahoo and Microsoft forged in 2009 while they were being led by different CEOs. Yahoo had an option of ending the relationship. The two are trying to chip away at Google's dominance of Internet search.

WASHINGTON (AP) — The House has passed a bill that would repeal the federal tax on estates, though the White House has threatened to veto it. Republicans say the "death tax" prevents small business owners from passing businesses on to their heirs. Democrats say repealing the tax is a giveaway to the rich. The federal tax rate on estates is 40 percent. This year, the exemption is $5.43 million for a single person. Married couples can exempt up to $10.9 million.

WASHINGTON (AP) — Federal regulators are proposing limits on how employers use financial penalties and rewards to nudge employees to participate in fast-growing workplace wellness programs. The Equal Employment Opportunity Commission is trying to clarify how the incentives can work with the Americans with Disabilities Act, which protects people with chronic conditions against workplace discrimination.

DETROIT (AP) — Volkswagen is recalling nearly 21,000 minivans for a second time to fix faulty ignition switches that can cause the vans to stall. The recall covers roughly 18,500 Routan minivans from the 2009 model year and another 2,200 from 2010. All were made for VW by Fiat Chrysler. The switches can unexpectedly slip out of the run position, shutting off the engines, knocking out power steering and brakes and disabling the air bags. Safety regulators say a recall last year for the same problem wasn't adequate.
