STANSBURY PARK, Utah (AP) — The man who pleaded guilty to fatally stabbing a Utah teenager during a brawl has been sentenced to prison.
KSL reports (http://bit.ly/1MrF0HU) that 20-year-old Larry Beach of San Antonio, Texas, was sentenced Tuesday to up to 35 years in prison.
Sheriff's deputies said 17-year-old Stansbury High School senior Jesse Horowitz was stabbed to death by Beach in Tooele County in April 2014.
Beach pleaded guilty in January.
He was sentenced to two to 20 years for manslaughter and one to 15 years for obstructing justice.
Police said Beach and Horowitz were at an elementary school in the middle of the night to watch a fight before getting into their own brawl.
Beach put the teen in a choke-hold and stabbed him seven to nine times.
Horowitz died at the scene.
