This is Chris Redgrave for Zions Bank Speaking on Business.

Craig Bonham never set out to start a restaurant. He just knew he liked smoking meats, so he set up a trailer to sell his meats. Set up like a food truck, Craig's reputation grew bite by bite, dish by dish. Customers couldn't get enough of his smoked meats, even served in a parking lot in Eden. That's when he knew it was time to open his own restaurant, which became Harley and Bucks Grill.

Harley and Bucks Grill was a small operation with just 8 tables and no liquor license, but it slowly expanded until it included 25 tables. Even then, it was hard to find a seat. When the time came that Craig decided to sell, he offered it to Doug Lythgoe, a long-time customer and businessman. Doug was committed to keeping all of his employees on board through the transition and now has around 30 employees.

The intention behind the purchase for Doug was to have the business closest to his Eden home. However, shortly after buying the restaurant, he was moved to a new location and that's when he moved to 2432 Washington Boulevard in Ogden. Thanks to the new location, Harley and Bucks Grill continues to grow in popularity.

Harley and Bucks Grill is known for steak and seafood. However, their lifeblood remains the smoked meats the restaurant was created for. Their most popular dishes are brisket, smoked ribs, smoked prime rib, crab cakes and lobster mac and cheese. They're now serving Sunday brunch from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and recently opened for lunch.

Not to mention Harley and Bucks Grill is one of the only oyster bars in Ogden, available Thursday through Saturday. Doug felt it was the natural progression for the business, which continues to gain new customers, who find Harley and Bucks through word of mouth, internet search and the great location on Washington Boulevard.
