The top seller for Valentine's Day is chocolate-dipped strawberries. You have to get those only a day before you plan to eat them, and that's why they have lines out the door. Sometimes people will request the strawberries be dipped in white or dark chocolate, but milk chocolate remains the favorite. Many men come to Cummings Studio Chocolates to get a Valentine's mix for their significant other.
Company president Marion Cummings, daughter-in-law of the original company founder, says Cummings is famous for their Rum Victoria, with the handmade signature on top. It was once featured on the Food channel because it's that good. People also come for the truffles, and why not when they have 60 flavors to choose from?
What people really love at Cummings Studio Chocolates are the custom box mixes they make. Marion says they have over 1,000 cards on file of customers' special assortment. Now it's all computerized, but the cards are still there, as a reminder. That means you could call to request your grandma's favorite selection of chocolates, and plenty of people do.
With two granddaughters in the business, Marion says Cummings Studio Chocolates is now moving into the third generation. Her granddaughters have both been working at Cummings from the time they were little, so they know how to make candy.
In just over 90 years, Cummings Studio Chocolates has created a lot of memories for people all over Utah. It's a favorite location for special occasions, from Christmas to Valentine's Day to Easter, for that special gift. Not to mention, Cummings will also ship their products. Because these are handmade and not created in a factory by a machine, the chocolates tend to stand out in people's minds and become memories that always bring a smile to someone's face.
