NEW YORK (AP) — Global Cash Access Holdings is getting into the casino gaming business, spending about $1.2 billion to buy Multimedia Games Holdings. Both companies make machines found on casino floors. Global Cash Access makes ATMs and cash-advance kiosks, while Texas-based Multimedia Games makes video slot machines.

HENDERSON, Nev. (AP) — MGM Resorts International is selling a Henderson casino that was built before the Hoover Dam and contains a vault that once guarded wages for the project's construction workers. The casino company announced yesterday that it would sell the 83-year-old Railroad Pass Hotel and Casino to Henderson-based First Federal Realty. The new owners say they plan to keep all current employees.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Nevada Assembly Speaker Marilyn Kirkpatrick says it's too early to say whether a huge package of tax breaks and incentives needed to land Tesla Motors Inc.'s lithium battery factory will have smooth sailing at a special legislative session next week. The North Las Vegas Democrat says legislators need to study details of the measures before voting on the incentives that could total $1.3 billion over 20 years.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials have marked the start of construction on a $1 billion solar power generating station in the desert 50 miles south of Las Vegas. The 250-megawatt project, dubbed Silver State South, is expected to produce enough electricity to power about 80,000 California homes when it is completed in 2016.
