With NATO leaders gathered in Wales for a two-day summit, Obama and Cameron say developments in Iraq and Syria, where the Islamic State group has seized control of a vast area, threaten security in NATO countries. The two leaders vow they will "not be cowed" despite the gruesome killing of two American journalists.

Police say the toddler was left in the vehicle for about seven hours while the outside temperature reached the high 80s. Harris' defense attorney says it was a tragic accident.

THOUSAND OAKS, Calif. (AP) — California wildlife officials and animal control officers are searching for a venomous cobra on the loose in the Los Angeles suburb of Thousand Oaks. The snake was last seen Monday evening when it bit a dog. Officials are concentrating on the cooler morning and evening hours when the snake would be more active and more likely to hunt for mice and other food. Residents are being warned to keep children away from dark holes and keep pets indoors.
