BRUSSELS (AP) — The top NATO commander says the Russian threat in the Ukraine region means the alliance needs to consider a long-term troop deployment. U.S. Air Force Gen. Philip Breedlove says the remaining Russian troops on the Ukraine border look like they intend to stay there, while rebel forces inside Ukraine continue to destabilize the Kiev government.
BRUSSELS (AP) — Russian President Vladimir Putin is gone but not forgotten as the G-7 leaders meet over dinner today. KABUL, Afghanistan (AP) — A Defense Department spokesman says there's no reason to think a Taliban video of the transfer of Sgt. A statement accompanying the video characterizes the swap for five Taliban officials as a significant achievement. The Taliban officials held at Guantanamo were flown to Qatar (GUH'-tur).
