The Republican governor told the Las Vegas Sun that while the state has benefited from sports and horse race betting, he would not support betting on federal elections unless he's "convinced otherwise."

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A woman has fallen to her death at the Red Rock Canyon National Conservation Area near Las Vegas. Police say 60-year-old Linda Brock of Las Vegas fell 35 to 40 feet Friday night in the Red Springs area while she was hiking with a group of people. She was pronounced dead at the scene.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Wild horse advocates fighting government roundups are citing past rulings that shot down their own legal challenges in urging a U.S. judge to throw out a lawsuit by livestock interests seeking more gathers of mustangs. The American Wild Horse Preservation filed a motion in Reno Thursday to dismiss the suit by the Nevada Farm Bureau Federation and Nevada Association of Counties.

STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) — A former Oklahoma State University professor who had been missing since February has been found in a hospital in Las Vegas. The son of Marc Krein told the Stillwater NewsPress that Krein called a family member Saturday from the hospital. Phillip Krein says his father told him he had been in some kind of accident. Marc Krein was a broadcast professor at OSU.
