BOISE, Idaho (AP) — A U.S. Supreme Court ruling requiring states to look beyond an intelligence test score in borderline cases of mental disability to determine whether a death row inmate is eligible to be executed could have ramifications for at least one Idaho prisoner. The justices ruled states cannot rely solely on an IQ score above 70 to bar an inmate from claiming mental disability. Gerald Pizzuto Jr. has been on Idaho's death row since 1986. He appealed, saying that his IQ was below 70, making it illegal for the state to execute him.

IDAHO FALLS, Idaho (AP) — A southeast Idaho woman has filed a discrimination lawsuit against Bonneville County. The Post Register reports that Kendalee Rydalch is seeking $1 million. The lawsuit says Rydalch was fired from her job as a juvenile probation officer with the county six days after she was arrested and charged with driving under the influence.

POCATELLO, Idaho (AP) — A 280,000-pound load being moved through Pocatello broke off its rear trailer and smashed five vehicles at a car dealership. Pocatello Police say there are no injuries from the crash. A spokesman with Phil Meador Toyota says the load destroyed four vehicles and dinged another. He estimates damage at $150,000.

SPOKANE, Wash. (AP) — Three Spokane residents have been arrested and charged with first-degree murder in connection with the death of a man whose body was found in Kootenai County, Idaho. The homicide victim was 32-year-old Mark Broadwater, who was reported missing last June.
