LAS VEGAS (AP) — A second California man has been sentenced in Nevada to eight years in federal prison after he and a co-defendant pleaded guilty to coercion and enticement of a minor for getting two girls, ages 12 and 16, to travel to Las Vegas to work as prostitutes. U.S. Attorney Daniel Bogden said today that 21-year-old Seagram Joshua Miller was also ordered yesterday to serve 10 years of supervised release and register as a sex offender. Miller's sentencing comes after 20-year-old Ray Darnell Webb was sentenced in April in U.S. District Court in Las Vegas.

RENO, Nev. (AP) — Reno Mayor Bob Cashell has broken his silence about who he thinks voters should pick as his replacement from the crowded field of 18 candidates. The popular, two-term mayor announced today he's endorsing Reno civil engineer Ray Pezonella as the best person to represent Reno's business community and residents city-wide. Early voting begins Saturday for the June 10 primary.

LAS VEGAS (AP) — A Las Vegas judge set bail at $100,000 and ordered house arrest for a 25-year-old Las Vegas man who claims the shooting of his friend, an aspiring rapper and former U.S. Marine, in a suite atop a Las Vegas resort last week was an accident. Jim Edward Johnson's defense lawyer, William Terry, said today that his client will post bail and appear for a preliminary hearing July 1 in the slaying of 25-year-old Evan Plunkett. Plunkett lived in Henderson and rapped under the name "Hollywood Will."

FALLON, Nev. (AP) — The Nevada Highway Patrol says a Florida woman was killed and her husband injured when their vehicle overturned on U.S. 50. The accident happened around 10:15 a.m. today about 40 miles east of Fallon. Troopers say 77-year-old Leslie Madsen was driving a 2005 Buick SUV when he lost control of the vehicle. The Buick left the roadway and overturned. Madsen's 75-year-old wife, Mary, was pronounced dead at the scene.
