WILLARD, Utah (AP) — A beekeeper has died after she was stung dozens of times by bees she kept in her backyard north of Ogden. Zak Taylor says his 31-year-old wife April Taylor was wearing gloves and a veil caring for the beehives last Tuesday when she was stung behind their house in Willard. KSLT-TV reports state entomologists are investigating to be sure the bees were not Africanized.

LOGAN, Utah (AP) — A Cache County man has pleaded guilty to second-degree felony automobile homicide in the death of the co-owner of a popular coffee house in Logan. In a plea deal, Alvin Henson of Millville admitted in court yesterday he was drunk and caused the three-car crash last month that claimed the life of Randy Wirth, who was riding his motorcycle when he was hit by Henson's pickup.

TACOMA, Wash. (AP) — A federal judge in Washington state says Josh Powell's family can share in the insurance proceeds from the lives of the two young sons he killed in 2012. The ruling came in a dispute between the families of Powell and his long-missing West Valley City wife, Susan Powell.

SALT LAKE CITY (AP) — The push for Utah to take control of millions of acres of federal public lands in the state has become a full-time campaign for one state lawmaker. Rep. Ken Ivory, a Republican from West Jordan, is traveling around the country about three weeks every month to advocate for greater state control of public lands.
