This is Fred Ball for Zions Bank, speaking on business.

In the uncertain times we live in, it's not enough to merely save your money. The key to financial freedom is to invest your money wisely.

Lon Henderson understands this concept, and he and his associates strive to do just that at Soltis Investment Advisors. Soltis, located in St. George, is an independent investment advisory firm whose main purpose is to create, build and manage wealth. Helping clients make wise financial decisions gives them freedom to pursue other endeavors, Lon says.

Soltis is distinguished by the fact that all transactions are fee-based, rather than done on a commission basis. During a downturn of the stock market in the late 1980s, Lon came to the realization that it would be much wiser for an investment advisor to be compensated by a fee rather than a commission. In 1993, Lon launched Soltis based on that concept. Soltis, run by the four operating partners, is committed to fulfilling its passion to build and preserve wealth for its clients.

Soltis helps with the process of solidifying a client's financial situation, from managing retirement funds, such as 401(k) plans, to investing in the stock market. The firm serves a high-end clientele. Some of its largest accounts include the leading law firm in Southern California, a Norwegian cruise line and the largest custom clothing manufacturer in Tennessee. Referrals account for a major portion of the business.

Lon tells me Soltis Investment Advisors appeals to clients because of its depth of experience, including a history of predictable results, and a service model people have come to know and appreciate. Even though the company's assets are close to the billion dollar mark, its business model is to essentially function as a boutique.

Technology has made it possible for Soltis Investment Advisors to reach an even wider range of clients than ever before. Lon hopes to see the firm continue to offer its clients sound financial advice in the personalized method they have come to know and trust.

For Zions Bank, I'm Fred Ball. I'm speaking on business.
