WALNUT CREEK, Calif. — The Pac-12 Conference coaches selected a total of 11 Utes to the 2011 all-conference teams, placing three on the first team, two on the second team and awarding six honorable mention citations.

Senior offensive lineman Tony Bergstrom, junior defensive lineman Star Lotulelei and senior defensive lineman Derrick Shelby were voted to the first team, while junior running back John White and senior offensive lineman John Cullen made the second team. Shelby was one of just three players to make both the all-Pac-12 first team and the Pac-12 all-Academic first team, joining Stanford QB Andrew Luck and California OL Mitchell Schwartz.

Bergstrom, a three-year starting right tackle, leads Utah with an 85% overall grade, winning 491 of 579 assignments. Nine of Lotulelei's 38 total tackles were for a loss and he is tied for 13th in the Pac-12 in tackles for loss average (0.75) despite being double teamed on most plays. Shelby's 45 total tackles include 5.0 sacks and 9.0 tackles for loss and his seven pass breakups ranks first among the league's defensive linemen. He also scored two touchdowns on an interception return and a fumble recovery.

White ranks second in the Pac-12 and 11th in the nation in rushing, averaging 117.00 yards per game. The school's second all-time single-season rusher with 1,404 yards, White's seven 100-yard games ranks second in the Pac-12 and he has four of the top 12 rushing performances in the conference. Two-year starting left tackle Cullen is tied for second on the Utah offensive line in average grade (82%), winning 519 of 635 assignments.

Earning honorable mention recognition were senior special teams star Greg Bird, senior defensive back Conroy Black, sophomore linebacker Brian Blechen, junior defensive back Ryan Lacy, junior placekicker Coleman Petersen and senior linebacker Chaz Walker.
