LAS VEGAS (AP) -- Louis Amundson had 21 points and 10 rebounds Wednesday night and Wink Adams added a game-high 23 points as the Rebels beat BYU, 82-72, in the Mountain West Conference.
UNLV built its lead to 18 points early in the second half on consecutive field goals from Curtis Terry.
BYU scored 12 of the next 14 points, capped by a 3-pointer from Austin Ainge, to trim the deficit to 56-47 with 12:27 to play.
The Rebels then used an Amundson dunk on a perfect pass from Adams to extend the lead to double digits for good at 68-56 with 7:34 to play.
UNLV (8-6, 2-0) got its sixth victory in seven games.
Fernando Malaman had a team-high 13 points and Brock Reichner added 10 points and seven rebounds for BYU (9-5, 1-2). The Cougars committed 18 turnovers in dropping their fourth road game in five attempts.
