CHAMPAIGN, Ill., Oct 26, 2005 (UPI via COMTEX) -- Pulitzer Prize winning journalist Leon DeCosta Jr. has donated his papers to the Library of the University of Illinois in Champaign, Ill.
Dash covered war, urban poverty and teenage childbearing for The Washington Post and is a professor of journalism, a Center for Advanced Study professor and a Swanlund professor at Illinois.
Dash's papers include correspondence, photographs, interview transcripts, recordings, course and workshop materials and reference materials related to his time with the Post and a stint in the Peace Corps, the university said in a news release.
Dash has written three books, including "Rosa Lee: A Mother and Her Family in Urban America," based on his 1994 Pulitzer Prize winning series in the Post.
