Veteran rocker ELVIS COSTELLO is proving his mettle as an opera impressario as his self-composed show Secret Arias premieres at Denmark's Copenhagen Opera House today (08OCT05).
The OLIVER'S ARMY star wrote the piece about HANS CHRISTIAN ANDERSEN's unrequited love for Swedish singer JENNY LIND, and he is certain a world tour will follow should the opening night prove a success.
Costello says, "It is a series of monologues. People don't dress up, there are no children mistaken for one another, and there are no Viking women in helmets." (ZJS/WNBTI/GES)
