Singapore (dpa) - Another 125 dengue cases were reported over the last 24 hours making Saturday the fifth consecutive day when the count exceeded 100 cases a day.
The number of dengue cases admitted to public hospitals on Friday rose to 85, up from 58 the day before, Channel News Asia reported.
Last week, 547 new cases were reported and hospitals across Singapore have postponed non-emergency operations to cope with the flood of dengue cases.
Dengue fever is caused by Aedes mosquitoes which breed in pools of stagnant water. The Aedes mosquito life cycle lasts seven to 10 days.
