(KSL News) For the first time since she was kidnapped four years ago, Elizabeth Smart has shared her story on live TV.
Elizabeth Smart: "Young children, girls, you know, nobody should have to go through that."
Smart made national headlines in 2002 when she was abducted from her bedroom, held captive for nine months, then miraculously found and reunited with her family.
Smart told CNN's Larry King she always felt there was a chance she'd be killed, but her faith in God enabled her to cope.
She also admitted she had no idea how big her story was, and that she's now moving on and doing just fine.
Elizabeth Smart: "I always had faith in my family. Like, I didn't think they'd give up on me. But I didn't know how big it was."
Elizabeth Smart: "I'm happy to say that, you know, I am here today and I am doing great."
Smart was kidnapped from her home in 2002, reportedly by Brian David Mitchell, a drifter and self-proclaimed prophet.
Prosecutors say Mitchell made Smart a plural wife. She was found in March 2003 in Sandy.
Smart says she's moving on and preparing to attend BYU, to major in music.
