LOGAN, Utah (AP) -- Logan has hired an architectural historian to evaluate whether the city should expand the boundaries of its historical district.
Logan's rich architecture has already landed its historical district on the National Register of Historic Places.
City planner Kristen Clifford says the designation imposes some restrictions on development for property owners but is an important part of the preservation work that maintains the city's character.
Clifford says the city received a grant from the Utah State Historical Society to have Korral Broschinsky identify any buildings with historic significance that are outside the district.
Clifford says the public will get a chance to provide input on the findings.
