3. Peterson giving back
Vikings running back Adrian Peterson is giving back to his hometown that has been ravaged by floods. ESPN reported Wednesday that Peterson, a native of Palestine, Texas, will make a $100,000 base donation to the Texas town of a little less than 19,000 people after rain caused massive flooding in the area.
From that initial $100,000, Peterson added he plans on matching any donations brought in to help the town. The flooding killed six people from Palestine, including one person Pederson said he had played football with in high school.
"I've been knowing him since elementary school," Peterson told ESPN. "It hit me hard, especially being my hometown.”
According to the report, Peterson planned to his hometown Thursday to survey the damage.
