LAS VEGAS (AP) — Officials are warning of possible smoke and ozone pollution in the air ahead of Las Vegas' many fireworks shows set to light up the sky over the holiday weekend.
The Clark County Department of Air Quality said Friday that it was issuing an air quality advisory in effect Sunday through Monday.
The county said there aren't unhealthy levels of pollution now but that fireworks displays and weather conditions could potentially elevate the levels of smoke and ozone over the weekend.
The advisory urges people to stay indoors, limit outdoor exercise and run the air conditioner, as smoke and dust can aggravate respiratory illnesses.
