NAMPA, Idaho (AP) — Authorities say the suspect wanted in connection with a drive-by shooting in Nampa that killed a man has been arrested in Yakima, Washington.
Jesus "AJ" Avila is charged with first-degree murder by robbery for the fatal shooting of 25-year-old Ricardo Keith on June 22. He was taken into custody in Yakima on Thursday.
Police say the victim had been driving in his pickup truck when he was shot by a man in a passing vehicle. He was taken to the hospital and later died.
The suspect's vehicle was found abandoned two days after the shooting, and police issued a warrant for his arrest.
The agencies involved in Avila's arrest included the Yakima and Nampa police departments as well as the U.S. Marshall's Greater Idaho Fugitive Task Force.
