DRAPER — Two people were hospitalized with serious injuries after a three-car crash Thursday, police say.
Draper Police Sgt. Chad Carpenter said two vehicles were headed west on 11400 South near 400 West at about 2:30 p.m. when one rear-ended the other, launching it over the center median.
That vehicle, a smaller passenger car, then collided head-on with a pickup truck headed eastbound, Carpenter said.
The driver and passenger of the car sustained serious but non-life threatening injuries and were transported by ambulance to a local hospital, Carpenter said.
Carpenter did not know the age or gender of the driver, but he said the passenger was a female estimated to be in her 30s.
The drivers of the other vehicles did not sustain injuries, Carpenter said.
The crash closed both directions of 11400 South for about an hour, the sergeant said. Both lanes of traffic were re-opened at about 3:30 p.m.
