PROVO — Tuesday was picture day at BYU fall camp, when players gathered for team photos, roster updates, and media opportunities.
Photographers from every major newspaper and media outlet that covers the Cougars were there, and players waited around for several hours to have their moment in the sun.
But punter Jonny Linehan still got a little competitive with KSL radio host Alex Kirry.
Believe it, Cougar fans; the host of Cougar Sports Saturday was once an offensive lineman and punter at Kamiak High School in Mukitlteo, Washington. He was an all-region lineman in 1998 by the Seattle Times, and a punter who — well, he booted the football a little bit.
Here's the reporter's attempt after he challenged New Zealand-born Linahan to a punt-off.
Made the mistake of taking on @jlinehan9 in punt contest at the indoor practice facility today. Here's my attempt pic.twitter.com/tFtnEoBZkZ

And here's how BYU's senior punter and former rugby star fared.
He only got me by about 2.5 sec in the hang time and 30 yards or so in the air. #humbledpic.twitter.com/I0lvT6aadV

What do you think? Who won this round?
In the interest of fairness, we'll call it a tie.
BYU moves into the second week of fall camp under new coach Kalani Sitake, with a live scrimmage planned for Saturday. Details regarding availability/viewing of the scrimmage are yet to be determined.
