LAYTON — Police on Thursday arrested a man believed to have stabbed another man earlier this week.
Tipsters alerted police that 27-year-old Jacquan David Wilson was seen near apartments at 378 E. Morgan Street. When police arrived, Wilson retreated into an apartment and would not come out.
"There were obvious signs that the apartment was occupied and those inside were refusing to answer," Layton police Lt. Jason Hinojosa said. SWAT officers also attempted to contact Wilson, and a search warrant was sought for entry.
Prior to a judge's approval of the warrant, Wilson surrendered peacefully, Hinojosa said.
Wilson was wanted for his alleged involvement in an attempted homicide on Tuesday. Police believe he stabbed a 32-year-old man during a fight.
Attempted murder charges and a warrant for his arrest were filed Wednesday at Farmington's 2nd District Court. Wilson, who faces the first-degree felony, was booked into the Davis County Jail.#MAP}
