PROVO — Chandler Roberson is as fashionable and trendy as the next fashion blogger, but there is one thing that sets her apart from the rest — her modest clothes.

Roberson, a member of The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints, loved to bare skin as a teenager, but came to realize she could be modest and fashionable, according to Millennial Mormons.

“First off, I choose to be modest because that’s what (Latter-day Saints) are supposed to do,” Roberson told KSL.com. “I decided to dress modestly to help men in a time when porn is a heavy influence, and I didn’t want to contribute.”

Roberson began blogging about fashion in January, and her blog, Days of Chandler, has recently gained a lot of attention.

“I’ve had several girls and women message me and thank me,” Roberson said. “I don’t do it because I want people to think I’m trying to say, ‘Look at how cool I am,’ but truly I want to help them.”

Even modest clothing companies have contacted Roberson and asked her to take pictures of her in their clothes.

“I’ve gotten a few people that have said, ‘You shouldn’t be dressing this way, you should dress however you want,’ but I don’t really entertain those too much, because I know what I’m doing and it’s what I’m supposed to do.”

Roberson said there are times when it’s hard to dress modestly because she’ll see cute outfits that are revealing, but it’s a challenge she’s happy to face.

“I never want girls to look at me and say, ‘Because Chandler wore a short skirt, it’s OK to wear this sometimes,’” Roberson said. “I think it’s good to rise to a challenge and realize it’s going to be hard at times and the popular thing might be crop tops, but you can make something equally as fashionable and cool that’s modest.”

Roberson gets outfit inspiration from Pinterest and also spends a lot of hours pairing different combinations from her closet.

“I never want to say, ‘Oh, I need something new to wear, I better go buy it,’” Roberson said. “I challenge myself to buckle down and say, ‘What do I already have, and what can I rearrange?’”

Roberson is a fan of frugality and enjoys shopping at Goodwill and H&M.

She tries to post on her blog twice a week, and hopes to incorporate more tutorials like “how to arrange this jacket in two different ways” and “how to make this outfit look J Crew.”
