SALT LAKE CITY — For the next two weeks, the Salt Lake Downtown Alliance is partnering up with dozens of restaurants to give residents a chance to get downtown and enjoy its best food for a discounted price.

If you’re looking for a place to go to lunch today, you can choose from the $5 two-item options at Bocata, Gracie’s, Salt Bistro, or Tony Caputo’s. But if you’re looking for more options, 26 restaurants that may typically be cost-prohibitive for lunch are offering a two-item for $10 deal you may not want to pass up.

Each of the restaurants will serve both regular menus and the Dine-O-Round menu, so be sure to request the special menus.

Faustina

This restaurant takes particular care with its ingredients and flavor combinations. Normally, its small plates shine, with items like bacon-wrapped dates and fried goat cheese with honey, apples and citrus. Faustina is participating in both the $10 lunches and $30 dinners.

For lunch, they are serving slow-roasted prime rib, stewed onions and peppers, provolone, chili aioli and a side of au jus, with their delectable vanilla bean panna cotta.

Come dinner time, diners will have several choices of starters and entrees. Dessert is Faustina’s apple tarte tatin.

Even Stevens

A new-to-town sandwich shop, it is food with a cause. For every sandwich you buy, Even Stevens gives a sandwich worth of ingredients to a local non-profit to feed those in need. A higher priority to your stomach, however, is that the sandwiches are actually really good.

Choose between a chicken kale ceasar salad or lemon chicken quinoa soup for your first course, and one of three sandwiches for your second. Sandwiches include the classic Reuben, the cleverly named Do Gouda — roast beef, smoked Gouda, sweet onion marmalade, red onion and greens on sourdough — or the classic combination of mozzarella, pesto, tomatoes, arugula, balsamic glaze and sourdough of the Capreezy.

Tin Angel Café

This café is all about sourcing locally, so you can always feel good about eating there.

Get an achiote pulled pork sandwich served on a baguette with manchego cheese for lunch, along with a side of green salad, house-made potato salad or terra chips and a dessert of chocolate torte.

Surf n’ turf is what’s for dinner, along with soup or salad, a side dish of sweet potato mashers, baby vegetables, tarragon beurre blanc and or garlic chips. You can choose your own dessert.

J. Wongs

This Thai and Chinese bistro is a downtown staple and is participating in both the $10 lunches and $30 dinners.

For lunch, it is serving yellow curry chicken and thai basil eggplant with a choice of white or brown rice or lo mein.

Dinner starts out with an appetizer of kor moo wang before the entree of pla rad prik, a whole red snapper with sweet thai chili sauce. The fish comes with a choice between jasmine, brown or sticky rice. Choose between chocolate, strawberry or banana for thai-style crepes for dessert.

Squatter’s

A community favorite, Squatter’s is known for great pub food and its vast selection of beers.

For lunch throughout the Dine-O-Round, Squatter’s will give diners a choice between a salad, the soup of the day or tomato bisque. The entrée is a choice between cashew crusted pork loin, grilled salmon or chicken chili verde burrito.

The $15 dinner option comes with soup or salad, like lunch, but the entrée menu will rotate depending on the special, and dessert.
