REDONDO BEACH, Calif. (AP) — Police say a Southern California fugitive sought since last summer in the shooting death of a man ambushed outside an apartment building has been arrested in Utah.
Redondo Beach police said in a statement that on Thursday the FBI in Salt Lake City arrested Erick Ortega, the third suspect in the June, 2013 shooting death of 38-year-old Bobby Darren Reynolds.
The two other suspects were arrested shortly after the shooting but police had been seeking Ortega, and on Tuesday had held a news conference offering up to $10,000 for his capture and prosecution.
The next day Redondo Beach police received an anonymous tip that a man matching his description was working as a dishwasher at an Italian restaurant in Salt Lake.
Police notified the FBI, who arrested Ortega.
