LOS ANGELES — In a battle of food-scarfing capabilities, a tiny hamster takes on competitive eating champion Takeru Kobayashi in the world's most adorable hot dog eating contest.
In the video, Bogart the hamster stares down Kobayashi, a Japanese competitive eater who can eat 106 tacos in 10 minutes and a large pizza in under a minute.
Once the stare-down is over, Bogart sits ready to outeat his competitor. After the ref blows his whistle, Bogart starts stuffing his face as fast as Kobayashi, eating the most adorable “hot dogs” I've ever seen. Don't fear, animal lovers — the hamster's dogs were made out of grapes, dates and carrots.
At the end of the contest, Bogart reigns supreme, eating 11 hot dogs to Kobayashi's 10. Taking his loss graciously, he presents Bogart with a hamster-sized gold medal.
This isn't the first time Kobayashi has lost an eating contest to an animal. In 2003, he competed on the Fox TV show “Man vs. Beast” against a 1,089-pound Kodiak bear who ate 50 bunless hot dogs compared with his 31 in only 2 minutes, 30 seconds.
Bogart made his film debut earlier this year, showing how cute tiny hamsters are when they eat tiny burritos.
