BOSTON (AP) — People will have an opportunity to see what's it's like to flee Syria as a refugee through an interactive exhibit in Massachusetts that demonstrates the harrowing ordeal many migrants endure.

"The Refugee Road" is hosted by global relief and development organization Oxfam America and Microsoft, and will take place Wednesday evening at the tech giant's research and development center in Cambridge, Massachusetts.

Participants will be assigned the real-life story of a Syrian refugee and be called to share that refugee's experience as photos taken at border crossings and refugee camps help illustrate the plight. They'll also be asked to act out parts of the refugee's journey, like carrying bags of personal possessions.

Oxfam is using the free event to call on the United States to redouble its efforts to resettle Syrians.
