BOULDER CITY, Nev. (AP) — Rescuers are searching for a man who was last seen Sunday afternoon jumping off a boat at Lake Meat National Recreational Area.

KSNV-TV in Las Vegas reports that the 35-year-old man jumped from a boat in the Boulder Basin area of the lake shortly before 1:25 p.m.

Recreational area spokeswoman Christine Vanover says he was wearing a life jacket but it came off.

She says he was last seen going under the water.

Officers from the U.S. Coast Guard and the Nevada Division of Wildlife as well as National Park Service rangers are conducting searches by boat.

The man's identity was not released.
