Fireworks lead to 2 structure fires in Las Vegas area

LAS VEGAS (AP) — Fourth of July fireworks were the cause of two structure fires as well as dozens of minor fires in the Las Vegas area Saturday night.

KSNV-TV reports (http://bit.ly/1dGefEQ) that one fire ignited around 10:45 p.m. near Decatur and Lone Mountain.

Firefighters say a trash can fire under a power meter started a blaze in a garage. The fire displaced one person and caused $20,000 damage.

A mobile home and shed were reported to be on fire shortly before midnight on Sandra Road near Owens Avenue.

Las Vegas fire crews say 12 other small fires were quickly contained.

Clark County fire officials say about 100 small fires were reported across the valley.

Authorities say no fire-related injuries were reported.
