LONGMONT, Colo. (AP) — Boulder County health officials say they've identified three locations in Longmont where mosquitoes have tested positive for West Nile virus.
The Longmont Times-Call reports (http://goo.gl/H9eX4w ) that the Boulder County Public Health department says the mosquito pools are at Jim Hamm Nature Area, the St. Vrain Greenway, and Left Hand Creek.
Public health officials say the locations have a high risk for virus transmission.
So far, Boulder County health officials have identified five locations with mosquitoes testing positive for West Nile since June. Mosquito control contractors will be spraying areas with high mosquito counts on Thursday.
