SOUTH ROYALTON, Vt. (AP) — Officials say The Vermont law School is receiving more than $728,000 to support innovative legal resources for farmers, food entrepreneurs, researchers and policymakers
The Rutland Herald reports (http://bit.ly/1Q3S0qb ) the Vermont Law School Center for Agriculture and Food Systems received the grant on Monday from the U.S. Department of Agriculture National Agricultural Library. The center has now received more than $1.48 million from the USDA.
The money will go toward creating a guide for farmers and food entrepreneurs on "How to Use a Lawyer" and an automated "Farmland Lease Assistant."
The release states that a FoodWorks program will also be developed where partners will develop case studies, infographics, sample policies and other resources that support promising food policy innovations at the local and state level.
