CLEARFIELD — The body of a 29-year-old woman found in a vacant home has been identified.
A resident found the woman Tuesday morning after noticing the door of a vacant house was open. Inside, the body of a woman was found lying on the floor. Investigators estimated the woman had been deceased for 24 to 28 hours.
Photos of the woman were sent to the Davis and Weber County jails in an effort to identify her. Corrections officials at the Davis County Jail recognized the woman and sent information to Clearfield police who were able to find the woman's family in Layton.
The woman was identified as Tina Joann Trujillo. Her cause of death had not been determined as of Wednesday but foul play was not suspected, according to a statement from Clearfield police.
Detectives believe Trujillo was homeless. Court records show she had prior felony convictions for attempted forgery and distribution of a controlled substance.
