SUMMIT COUNTY -- A rollover crash near Parley's Summit killed one person and forced the closure of eastbound Interstate 80 in the area.

Troopers say two cars were involved in the crash, which occurred just after 8:30 p.m. Utah Highway Patrol Sgt. Jason Hunter says a Jeep traveling west crossed over the center barrier and was struck by an eastbound Volkswagen.

The man in the Volkswagen died at the scene. The driver of the Jeep complained of chest pains and was treated on site.

There were no other passengers in the cars. Troopers are investigating the cause of the crash. They have ruled out alcohol as a factor.

Cars were directed to the East Canyon exit while troopers cleaned up the wreckage. The crash caused delays on I-80 for several hours.
