SALT LAKE COUNTY -- The Unified Police Department unveiled its new uniforms Monday.
Sheriff Jim Winder says the new uniforms represent a renewed commitment to and effort for residents of Salt Lake County.
Winder said while new officers in new uniforms are on the streets, it's the same service the sheriff's office has provided for the past 160 years.
The new uniforms come at no extra cost to taxpayers. All of the uniforms are paid with a uniform allowance given to each officer.
