PRICE — Two people were killed and three were injured — including a law enforcement officer — when a vehicle caught fire in Price Saturday morning, according to deputies.

Emergency responders were called to the scene of a single-vehicle crash that resulted in a car fire near the Carbon County-Price Regional Airport at about 5:30 a.m., according to a statement from the Carbon County Sheriff's Office.

Two of the four occupants of the vehicle were killed, and the other two occupants were taken to the hospital, the sheriff's office said. A law enforcement officer was also taken to the hospital with injuries sustained during the rescue.

The extent of the injuries was unclear, and deputies did not identify the two who were killed.

The incident is still under investigation by the sheriff's office and the Utah Highway Patrol.
