SYRACUSE — One person was injured as flames could be seen pouring out of a home off of Bluff Road in Syracuse on Saturday.
Syracuse firefighters, along with responders from Layton, North Davis Fire District, Hill Air Force Base and emergency services responded to a house fire at 1:20 p.m. at 2345 S. Bluff Road.
Kara Finley, a spokesperson for the city, said they encountered one person who suffered burns and was taken to the hospital but is now stable. A dog was also extracted from the home, and given oxygen. No other injuries were reported.
According to Finley, the high wind conditions made it challenging for firefighters to control the blaze. She said they estimate the property damage at around $400,000. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
