LOA, Wayne County — State Route 24 has been closed just west of Loa after a semitruck crashed and caught fire Wednesday morning, troopers said.

The truck was hauling two trailers, each loaded with fuel. The rear trailer rolled, and the fuel caught fire, engulfing the truck in flames.

The driver was able to get out safely and no one was injured, but the fuel continues to burn, troopers said.

S.R. 24 is closed in both directions and drivers are asked to use state Route 25 to state Route 72 as a possible alternate route. The closure is expected to last through at least 3:30 p.m., according to the Utah Department of Transportation.
