WELLINGTON, Carbon — A semitruck fire along U.S. 6 west of Wellington in Carbon County caused significant delays on Monday afternoon, exacerbating holiday traffic.

The Wellington Fire Department said on Facebook that it was called at 12:45 p.m. and found the cab fully engulfed, which had created a brush fire. No injuries were reported.

Price Fire Department, Helper Fire Department and East Carbon Fire helped extinguish the fire.

"We appreciate the hard work that was put in," the Facebook post said.

Delays in the area of the fire were reported throughout the afternoon Monday before crews cleared the wreckage by 6 p.m.
