RIVERSIDE, Box Elder County — One person is dead after they suffered a "fatal medical issue" while driving on I-15 near Riverside on Friday afternoon.

The driver was southbound in a semitruck when the medical issue occurred, according to a press release. The vehicle then left the roadway.

First responders attempted life-saving measures for the unresponsive driver when they arrived at the crash, but the driver had died.

The Utah Highway Patrol said on Twitter that drivers "may experience lane restrictions" while troopers investigate the crash and clean up the area.

The identity of the driver has not been released.
