EDEN — The two men who were killed in a single-engine plane crash just south of Power Mountain Saturday morning have been identified by the Weber County Sheriff's Office.

The two victims were identified Sunday as 26-year-old Devin Criddle of Draper and 21-year-old Braeden Raleigh of Salt Lake City.

Emergency crews responded to a report of a plane crash in the area of 7739 E. Horizon Run Road shortly after 10 a.m. Saturday. They arrived at the scene to find one of the men already deceased and the other still alive with extensive second and third-degree burns, said Weber Fire Deputy Chief Marshal David Reed.

The man who survived the crash was transported by medical helicopter to a burn center at the University of Utah in extremely critical condition. He later died from his injuries, Weber County sheriff's officials said Saturday night.

Fire crews were able to contain a small fire also started by the crash, according to Reed. Fire officials said Weber County Sheriff's deputies and Ogden City Fire officials assisted in the response to the scene.

Powder Mountain Resort said the Paper Airplane Trail, Baggage Claim Trail, Brim Trail parking area and Lefty's Canyon area will be closed until Monday, May 31 while an investigation is conducted.

Criddle's family released the following statement Sunday afternoon:

"Our family is heartbroken over the loss of Devin. He was an amazing man that constantly put the needs of others first. Grief is the price we pay for loving someone, and that price is worth it. We also grieve with the loved ones of the pilot of the plane, Braedan Raleigh, and pray for them. Devin was a wonderful son, brother, and friend. He dreamed of becoming a pilot and this flight was his first step on that path. We will dearly miss his energetic personality and compassionate disposition, but we have faith in the eternal nature of our family and we look forward to our reunion with Devin. We are grateful to all those who are supporting and comforting our family through this difficult time."

The crash remains under investigation.
