MURRAY — Murray police have identified a man whose body was found Thursday by kayakers in Little Cottonwood Creek.

Kayakers spotted 39-year-old Christopher Mitchell's body in the water of Little Cottonwood Creek and called 911, Murray Police Sgt. Ross Huff said.

Crews waited until a medical examiner arrived before retrieving Mitchell's body from the water.

Preliminary reports said that there were no signs of trauma and foul play was not suspected, Huff said. Police were looking at exposure or drowning as possible causes. Huff said it could take weeks to get autopsy reports back from the medical examiner's office.
